In celebration of Yummy Magazine’s 10th anniversary this year, they, together with its online counterpart that serves as the ultimate resource of Filipino moms for all their kitchen conundrums and cooking needs, Yummy.ph, will host Yummy Academy cooking workshops in multiple legs all throughout the year. These workshops are designed to teach readers the joys and benefits of cooking at home and preparing their own meals as well as showcasing Yummy.ph’s reader recipe submission function—it is the only local website that currently has this and aims to encourage readers to share their recipes to the Yummy community and to be featured by the Yummy editors.
The reader recipe function allows the Yummy readers to upload and share their own recipes just like the Yummy editors—all they need to do is sign up for an account in Yummy.ph and submit all the recipes they want. What’s even better is that every week, the Yummy editors will pick out their favorite reader recipes and share them on Yummy’s Facebook page.
The first cooking workshop was conducted by Chef Monet Mailan and Chef LA Sedeno, and attended by Yummy readers and food bloggers. The workshop was held on February 18, Saturday, at 25 Mushrooms Kitchen in Valle Verde, Pasig City. Attendees were able to recreate three recipes: Pumpkin Carbonara, French Chocolate Fondant Cake, and Tamarind Grilled Shrimp Skewer for themselves which are also featured in Yummy Magazine’s February issue. Aside from this, the readers were also given a chance to customize the recipes and make it their own, the winning recipes were then uploaded onto the reader’s personal account in Yummy.ph where millions of fellow food lovers can view and recreate those recipes at home.
As a way of giving back to their loyal readers, Yummy came out with its first-ever February issue packed with 60 more recipes that will definitely bring them to their kitchen and satisfy their cravings. While everyone is focused on getting on track by eating healthy after the holidays, it is still a good thing to satisfy them once in a while as long as it is worth every single calorie. And this issue lets the readers to enjoy food with different takes on desserts, chocolates, cheeses, and so much more.
