YES! April 2014

Fourteen years after publishing its very first issue in 2000—with no less than Judy Ann Santos’s house on the cover—YES! magazine once again features the homes of today’s brightest stars: Heart Evangelista and Enrique Gil

Last year, Heart Evangelista was scouting around for another place she could call home. She had earlier left her posh Makati condominium unit, which was in the same building as the unit occupied by her estranged parents. Luckily, she found one such place in a quiet village in New Manila, Quezon City. It was a three-story townhouse not too far from GMA, her home network. It was also a mere 120 or so steps from the home of her boyfriend, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero.

It took Heart three months to renovate this house and retrofit it to suit her style. “May mga binaklas and talagang inayos siya, pati ’yong mga floor, lahat. But it’s sulit for me, kasi matagal din naman ako titira dito, e. I mean, I’ll stay here till I get married, and it’s still a while.”

In the YES! April 2014 issue, Heart opens her home and her heart about her passion for painting, her “not normal” relationship with her estranged parents, and her perfect match—her boyfriend Chiz.

A matinee idol in the making, Mira Bella leading man Enrique Gil gives YES! an exclusive look of the house that he grew up in—the home he considers as “special.”

The 21-year-old Cebu-born Kapamilya heartthrob says that his mom, Barbara Anne Gil, bought this house in Parañaque, when she and her late husband, Enrique’s father, Enrique Amadeo Sr., were just starting out as a young couple in the 1980s.

“My mom was based in Cebu back then. She was already working for PAL [Philippine Airlines] when she met my dad. She wanted to have a place near the airport. So when my mom and dad got together, he moved in here, and then, boom! The kids suddenly came.” Get a first look at Enrique’s childhood home in the anniversary issue of YES! magazine.

Also in this issue, the magazine puts the spotlight on Danica Sotto’s kitchen, Lotlot de Leon’s reunion with her biological father, skater Michael Martinez’s road to the Olympics, Iya Villania and Drew Arellano’s secret wedding, and more!
