A world of sports filled with everything from game scores and schedules to in-depth features and personality sketches is now available to the Filipino sports fan, right at his fingertips. Summit Media and PEP, Inc. present Sports Interactive Network (SPIN.ph), the first and only full-staff, standalone sports website in the country.
Helmed by veteran sportswriter Dodo Catacutan, SPIN.ph caters to local sports followers of all inclinations, with its real-time coverage of basketball, boxing, football, college athletics, and more. “PEP, Inc. felt that with the growing interest in Philippine sports, thanks to the phenomenal success of Manny Pacquiao, the amazing rise of the Philippine Azkals, and the growing popularity of the UAAP and NCAA collegiate basketball leagues, it's high time to launch an all-sports portal that will attract the interest of netizens from all demographics and age brackets,” Catacutan explains.

SPIN.ph was launched to the public on June 5, 2012. By the end of June, the site had garnered 100,000 page views, with figures spiking on June 10 during its coverage of the Pacquiao vs. Bradley match.
Barely a month in existence, SPIN.ph already has several projects lined up for its readers, due to come out in the next few weeks. “One is a special microsite for college basketball, much like the Manny Matters microsite we launched just before Manny Pacquiao's fight against Timothy Bradley,” Catacutan reveals. “We're also coming up with a special on Filipino Olympians just in time for the London Olympics, as well as videos especially conceptualized for SPIN.ph.”
The PEP, Inc. team has high hopes that SPIN.ph will be the first name in online sports writing in the country, as PEP General Manager Marilyn See attests. “SPIN.ph hopes to become a repository of all information related to sports, from game schedules and team standings to player statistics and career histories. Through our polls and forums, it also hopes to become the venue where readers voice out their comments and opinions on sports issues.”
