yes.jpgYES! magazine starts the year with a bang as Shalani Soledad grants an exclusive interview with the country’s number one entertainment magazine, finally breaking her silence regarding her controversial break-up with Philippine President Benigno Aquino, Jr. or Noynoy, her boyfriend of two years.

Di ‘ba may tinatawag tayong woman’s instinct,” Shalani answers YES! when asked whether she foresaw her break-up with Noynoy. “And of course, as someone in a relationship, mararamdaman mo naman, e. Mararamdaman mo kung nagbago ba. And you would just hope, no, and you would just pray na, sana, sana maging okey.”

After her break-up with Noynoy, Shalani was propelled to stardom as TV5 offered her to host the game show, Willing Willie, alongside Willie Revillame. “It wasn’t planned, ang bilis ng mga pangyayari,” Shalani muses. “[But] we found the offer sincere, so iyong purpose namin of saying no, it got to saying yes.”

YES! also reveals more about Shalani’s childhood and growing up pains by talking to her mother, Mama Evelyn.

The January issue of YES! also features a special interview with Jinkee Pacquiao, who shares with YES! her fashion diary with photos of travels and her prized luxury items such as designer clothes, bags and accessories. “Sa Beverly Hills ako namili,” Jinkee tells YES! when asked where she shopped after her husband and boxing champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao’s victory over Mexican boxer Antonio Margarito. “’Yong mga kaibigan ko tine-text ako kung ano’ng magandang brand, like si Doktora Vicki Belo, meron siyang gustong-gusto na damit na binibili, so pinupuntahan ko. Tinitingnan ko kung okey, kung gusto ko rin. So ‘yon ang binili ko ngayon, ‘yong mga Herve Leger na damit.

She also tells YES! about her life as a “fashionphile”, a businesswoman, a mother to her children and a wife to Manny. “Sabi ko kailangan i-adjust ko ‘yong sarili ko na masanay ako,” Jinkee tells YES!. “Kailangang ayusin ko ‘yong time ko for Manny, for my kids, sa business ko. Gano’n, e. Nakaka-stress minsan, pero gano’n talaga, e. Wala akong magagawa. Parang I have no choice na. Ganito ang role ko.”
