FHM Philippines, the bestselling men’s magazine in the country, reaches another milestone as it garnered two million likes on their Facebook page this month—an impressive feat considering they just hit the one million mark this time last year.

The rapid growth of their Facebook fan base to two million came as a pleasant surprise for the FHM team, who put up the Facebook page in March 2010 and took two years and eight months before they reached one million followers. In November 2012, social media analytics firm Social Bakers ranked FHM fifth among the Philippine media entities with the most Facebook fans; now with 2.1 million likes, FHM is third on the list.

FHM.com.ph managing editor BA Borleo says, “Reaching two million likes this fast just proves how influential the brand has become. Pinoys are always on the lookout for something to feast on online—whether it is a sexy photo or something inane—we’re just happy they choose to munch on us.”

And what a feast it is. FHM’s Facebook page is packed not just with photos of the best-looking babes, it’s got the latest in sports, technology, and entertainment; commentaries on pop culture and current events; tips on how to look good and be awesome; and mischievous memes that always get a rise out of followers—all adding up to a winning formula of information, inspiration, irreverence, and inanity.

The last three years on Facebook have allowed the FHM team to get to know their fans better, and consequently, to serve them better. “They’re very opinionated,” Borleo shares. “They’re also very unabashed commenters. They fight for what they believe in and argue with people who oppose their beliefs. There’s always a lively conversation, debate, or incessant trolling happening on our Facebook page, and, to be frank, we love it!”
