FHM Philippines and Candy greet the New Year with new milestones, as FHM reached 3 million likes on Facebook this month and Candy hit the one million mark last December. According to social media analytics site SocialBakers.com, both are among the top 10 Philippine media entities with the most fans on Facebook, with FHM in third place and Candy at the ninth spot.

As of this writing, FHM has 3,135,545 Facebook fans and Candy has 1,202,826.

Particularly impressive about the growth of FHM’s fan base to 3 million is that just two months earlier, in November 2013, the FHM team was celebrating reaching their second million—one that took them a year to reach. FHM.com.ph managing editor BA Borleo has one word for how they feel about this development: “Overwhelmed.”

“Honestly, we didn’t expect it to happen this soon,” Borleo continues. “It took us more than two years to hit a million likes, and another year for us to reach two million. We were expecting the same timeframe for our third million.”

Like FHM, Candy consistently harnesses Facebook to connect with readers, hence its strong figures. Candymag.com managing editor Macy Alcaraz says, “We always love hearing from our readers, and social media networks such as Facebook make it easier for us to communicate with them. We get instant feedback on things like our monthly cover or they tell us what they want to see in future issues.”
