Dream Big Books

In celebration of National Children’s Book Month, Dream Big Books shares the joy of reading and the gift of inspiration to more kids this July.

Summit Books’ children’s literature imprint has launched a month-long donation program that will bring its collection of inspiring tales of Filipino role models to students in public schools in Mandaluyong City. These schools are Dona Basilisa Yangco Elementary School, Eulogio Rodriguez Integrated School, Highway Hills Elementary School, Hulo Elementary School, Jose Fabella Elementary School, Mandaluyong Elementary School, Pedro P. Cruz Elementary School, and Plainview Elementary School.

Now, more little ones will be moved to dream big by the riches-to-rags-to-riches journey of Forbes Asia’s fourth richest man in the Philippines John Gokongwei, Jr. in Big John; the success story of small town girl-turned-National Book Store-owner Socorro Ramos in Nanay Coring; the strong family ties and deep love for nation shown by the Aquino family in Ninoy, Cory, and Noynoy; and the life of Jesse Robredo, an icon of good governance and a staunch family man, in Simply Jesse.

“We want to share the stories of these outstanding Filipinos to kids,” Summit Books team publisher Christine Ko says. “Their stories talk about integrity, hard work, love for family and country, and resilience—values that are important in character-building and nation-building.”

“Hopefully, the kids will be inspired that they can do what they want to do or become who they want to be with hard work and determination,” Ko concludes.

Big John; Nanay Coring; Ninoy, Cory, and Noynoy; and Simply Jesse are available in bookstores and newsstands nationwide for only P125 each. For more on Summit Books, visit www.summitmedia.com.ph/books and like on Facebook via www.facebook.com/SummitBooks.
