FHM November 2013

She can play a rebel all she wants, but there’s no denying that FHM Philippines November cover girl Danita Paner got celebrity in her blood as she goes all out on her first-ever sexy magazine cover.

Danita’s topless debut on the cover of FHM was made possible by two shots of brandy right before she went in front of the camera. “Pampainit lang,” she tells FHM. Like a ritual she does when she performs with her pop-alternative band, Ferown, Danita turns to booze to chase away the jitters.

Having worked with Mark Nicdao and his team prior to Danita’s FHM debut helped her do the layouts comfortably. “It’s my first time to do a topless shoot, but since it was Mark doing it naging madali naman for me to do it. And it’s not bastusin, it’s very tasteful,” says Danita.

The former TV5 talent was tagged as the Rebel Princess and had appeared in TV5’s My Driver, Sweet Lover (2010), followed by Bangis (2011), and Isang Dakot Na Luha (2012). Bagging three shows in three years, Danita reveals in FHM that acting was not her first love, but rather performing in a gig. “When performing on stage, I just totally let go and sing. It feels like a blur more than anything and I think there’s freedom in that,” she says. “[But ever since] I took acting workshops, nagustuhan ko na siya. Ngayon, sobrang mahal na mahal ko na ang pag-arte.

True to her label as the Rebel Princess, Danita recalls back in the day when she ran away from home for about two years due to differences with her mom. “Basta nag-let go lang ako sa lahat. Para akong ibon na pinakawalan,” she recalls. “In the latter part, my dad was helping me out na rin, tulong ng friends. Nasa diskarte 'yun, eh. Pero 'yung positive side naman dun is 'yung sa amin talaga ni mommy. Pagkauwi ko, talagang na-resolve namin lahat.”
