Say hello to the new face of Cosmo.ph!

In February 2011, Cosmo.ph, the online counterpart of Cosmopolitan Philippines, surprised and delighted readers by unveiling a neater yet edgier, classier yet sassier façade. The bold palette that used to fill the site has been retired in favor of a crisp white canvas, eye-catching images, sleek black text, and a vibrant smattering of Cosmo’s main color: hot pink.

“We kept the elements that worked for the old site but generally gave them a more sophisticated, more organized, and more streamlined look,” Cosmo.ph Managing Editor Trixie Reyna explains of the change. “The site still looks very fun, very kikay, but just a tad more sophisticated.”

The Cosmo.ph team also looked to its audience when brainstorming for the new look. “We decided to revamp the site to improve our readers’ online experience—make it more engaging, compelling, and of course visually appealing,” Reyna continues. “We wanted them to look forward to seeing the site, and to like what they see when they go there.”

So far, fun, fearless Filipinas have been giving the site’s makeover the thumbs up. Reyna shares, “We’ve been getting emails, shoutouts, and Twitter and Facebook posts that they think the site looks so much prettier, that they enjoy browsing it, that it looks more sophisticated—exactly what we wanted to hear!”

Expect more exciting changes in Cosmo.ph beginning March 2011, such as the launch of matchmaking tool Cosmo Match; Cosmo Night Shift, a section dedicated to Cosmo girls who work in call centers; Lifestyle Picks, which gives the lowdown on the coolest restaurants, bars, vacation spots, gadgets, and more; and a revamp of Cosmo Editors’ Blogs, which will give readers a closer look into the lives of the Cosmo team.

Cosmo.ph currently garners over 5 million pageviews and around 180,000 unique visitors every month*, making it one of the biggest online communities for women in the Philippines.
