This month, Candy Magazine launched its first-ever Social Media issue, featuring the country’s favourite online gang of inspiring artists, creators, collaborators, and faces of the future. In this day and age, the latest trend is just one tweet, post, or snap away.

On July 21, Candy held an intimate gathering at Le Petit Soufflé in Century Mall Makati with the country’s coolest young, online creatives for a one-of-a-kind afternoon of live collabs, awe-inspiring performances, fresh faces, and Instagram-worthy treats.

The event was attended by members of the magazine’s “50 to Follow” including style trendsetters: Akiko Abad and Martine Velasco, and YouTuber sensations: Clara Benin, Andrea Brilliantes, Janina Vela, Kira Balinger, Ivy, Thea, and Adora of @thethreeofusmusic. Also in attendance were a few of the magazine’s fave it girls including models Shannice and Fiona Bishop; and crafty girls Cassy Cajucom and Jamie Catt. Others who made it to the list this year included Arisse de Santos, Aaliyah Benisano, Kristel Fulgar, Jess Connelly, Aryanna Epperson, Alexa Ilacad, Aya Cabauatan, Yanna Yang, Stephen de Jesus, Irene Kim, Sue Ramirez, and Linn Oeymo.

Candy Magazine’s editor-in-chief, Sam Potenciano said “our magazine and the local creative landscape have already been shaped by these stars, and the way that they have so boldly expressed, honed, and shared their craft with us—editors, Candy readers, and the thousands of other people around the world, who they’ve inspired just by sharing their work online.”

The cozy afternoon was made more exciting with special performances by Clara Benin and The Three of Us as well as a live portrait session by our social media star photographer Heidi Sarol. The social media celebs also had fun with the booths set up at the venue, such as a nail art session and nail polish buffet- with fun-tastic freebies– all thanks to Candy’s sweetest Major sponsor, Chic Centre.
