The value of tolerance goes beyond respect and understanding for diverse races, religions, and cultures. It encompasses acceptance for those who are different from us in lifestyle, looks, or way of dressing—a subject that Preview knows all too well.

In observance of the United Nations’ International Day of Tolerance on November 16, Preview collaborated with award-winning advertising agency Blackpencil Manila for the “Intolerant Banner” (below), which won the Silver in the Online Advertising Campaign category of the 3rd Philippine Tinta Awards, held at Buddha-Bar Manila on January 25, 2013. The successful online campaign ran on Preview’s web counterpart Stylebible.ph on November 16, 2012.

The Preview Tolerance campaign also comes with a magazine editorial that appeared in the November 2012 issue of Preview. The editorial, titled “Mirror Image”, portrays two women in each spread sizing the other up based on outward appearances, their harshly unfair yet all-too-familiar judgments revealed in the backdrop. “Mirror Image” emerged a finalist in the Art Direction category of the Tinta Awards. “This project is a visualization of what we often think about the other; little do we realize that they’re also thinking about us just as harshly,” says Executive Creative Director Kat Limchoc of Blackpencil Manila, a regional sister agency of the Leo Burnett Group. “Hopefully, with this kind of reflection…maybe it will make us rethink our attitudes and rethink that maybe we should look at each other with more kindness, generosity, and understanding.”
