Esquire August 2012The August issue of Esquire Philippines themed as the Wealth Issue delves on matters worthy of proper credit and celebration--the non-conformists of men’s fashion, a 25th anniversary of an all-Filipino clothing brand, the screening of The Bourne Legacy which was shot in the country, and more.

Bench clothing brand proprietor Ben Chan graces the cover of the Wealth Issue as his business reaches 25 years of cultivating a culture of style among Filipinos. His success comes from providing a wide range of affordable stylish and basic clothing that also extends to frills like perfumes, watches, accessories, snack food, and even a Bench MasterCard. Ben tells Esquire Philippines, “Anything that I do has the Filipino in mind. Anything that I do is always Filipino.”

Esquire Philippines editor-in-chief Erwin Romulo lists in his editorial note other things to be merry about which are found in the Wealth Issue. Given the ongoing London Olympics, Esquire also celebrates the victory along the lines achieved by the Filipino basketball delegation that competed in the Berlin Olympics in 1936, detailed by Bill Velasco’s compelling and heartfelt tribute to the squad in this issue.

Also featured in Esquire Philippines is CEO Felipe Gozon as he talks about the TV5-GMA merger that shook the nation. Mr. Gozon says in the interview, “You should not be surprised bakit gustong bilhin ang Channel 7. Parang tinatanong mo bakit ba nililigawanyungpagkaganda-gandang dalagang yun?
