Women's Health July 2013At first glance, Alex and Toni Gonzaga could pass for twins. But more than their pretty faces and slim frames, they share a mutual admiration for one another. Alex and Toni exhibit a certain closeness and tight bond that have endeared them even more to their fans. Women’s Health quizzed the Gonzaga sisters on their relationship and on their stay-slim secrets.

It’s a mix of Bikram yoga, Vinyasa yoga and Pilates for Alex; while it’s ballroom dancing for Toni. Alex goes easy on the rice; while Toni eats everything in moderation.

Toni believes in maintaining work-life balance. “I don’t want to sacrifice my health just because I’m busy with work. It’s very important that you don’t lose that balance. I work hard, but I also want to look good and feel good.” Alex gets motivated when she sees the outcome of her workouts. “When I see even the littlest of results, especially when I see my arms getting toned, that gets me more motivated. I get encouraged to reach my fitness goals.

When it comes to matters of the heart, the sisters are at different seasons in their love lives. Alex enjoys being single and believes in not to rushing into a relationship. “Whatever happens, the man who is really for you will pursue you. Even if you try to avoid him, he will be persistent, and you two will end up together,” says Alex.

Toni, on the other hand, is in a relationship with director Paul Soriano. Her advice for women in relationships? “Respect is very important,” says the older Gonzaga. “Put God in the center of the relationship, that makes it stronger because your foundation is solid.”
