National Book Store’s ranking of bestselling Philippine publications for October 2013 confirms that three Summit Books dominate the top five of the local bestsellers of the country’s largest bookstore chain. Operation Break the Casanova’s Heart by Aly Almario lands at number one, The Best of This Is a Crazy Planets Book 2 by Lourd de Veyra takes the third spot, and 150 Style Essentials for Every Girl by Trica Gosingtian enters the list in fifth place.

Launched in August this year, Operation: Break the Casanova’s Heart is the first release from Pop Fiction, Summit Books’ new chick lit imprint that features works by budding writers in the online community. An online cult favorite before it was picked up by Pop Fiction, Operation: Break the Casanova’s Heart follows college girl Naomi on her mission to take revenge on the campus Casanova who broke her best friend’s heart.

The Best of This Is a Crazy Planets Book 2 is the follow-up to the bestselling 2011 anthology compiling Lourd de Veyra’s writings on his SPOT.ph blog. Released in September, the new volume gathers irreverent blog posts and previously unpublished essays that could only come from the mind of the Palanca-award winning writer, Radioactive Sago Project vocalist, TV personality, sometime product endorser, and all-around Pinoy culture commentator.
