Entrepreneur Philippines recently recognized 18 companies during its Franchise Awards 2013 held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. Topping this list are the five Outstanding Franchise Companies, namely, Botoy’s Litson Manok, Kumon Philippines, Mr. Quickie, Phoenix Petroleum, and 7-Eleven.
Entrepreneur Philippines has been giving this award to the country’s top franchise companies since 2006, in recognition of the franchise industry’s role in spurring business and entrepreneurship in the country. The nominees go through a rigorous process of screening and judging, which examines each company’s operational and organizational systems, reach of its store network, and financial standing.
This year, aside from the top five franchise companies, Entrepreneur Philippines gave out awards in two other categories: Best in Franchise Support and Fastest-Growing Franchise.
“Through the years, franchise companies in the country have played a big role not only in creating businesses for those fortunate enough to have the resources to put up their own enterprises,” says Leah B. del Castillo, editor-in-chief of Entrepreneur Philippines. “They can also be credited for creating thousands of jobs, a social and economic imperative that the franchise industry has, by the very nature of its business model, addressed successfully.”

From left to right, top to bottom: Cesar Alba of McAlba Foods Corp, maker of Botoy's Litson Manok; Tadashi Nakatsuka of Kumon Philippines; Emiliano Caruncho IV of Mr. Quickie; Raymond Zorilla of Phoenix Petroleum; and Jose Victor Paterno of 7-Eleven receive their awards from Entrepreneur Philippines managing editor Maricris Carlos and editor-in-chief Leah del Castillo.

These are the companies that have put in place excellent support systems for their franchisees, enabling them to follow rules easily and deliver a consistent product or service.
