Runner's World April-June 2011Readers asked, we listened—after a good year’s run, the quarterly magazine that was introduced as an insert in Men’s Health Philippines and Women’s Health Philippines in 2010 is now sprinting solo.

Starting this month, the Philippine edition of Runner’s World—the leading voice of running worldwide—is now available in bookstores and newsstands as a stand-alone issue, with succeeding issues coming out in July, October, and January. For only P150, the fast-growing Filipino running community will be treated to more pages of helpful tips and articles, more insightful local content, and more interesting and inspiring cover personalities.

To commemorate its debut as a stand-alone, Runner’s World’s April-June issue packs a mighty wallop with informative features that motivate runners to reach their health and fitness goals. Find out how to fight fat with a high intensity workout and a runner’s diet, what newbie runners need to know before they take up the sport, how to stay hydrated during the summer, and what snacks work best to refuel the body. Actor, health buff, and running enthusiast Piolo Pascual graces the cover of the issue.

Besides being a valuable resource for running enthusiasts, the new Runner’s World is an ideal promotional venue for brands, manufacturers, and service providers catering to the running community. “The decision to launch it as a stand-alone magazine is not only based on our mission to appeal to the growing number of runners, but also to increase and make the running brand market here in the Philippines healthier, thereby giving more options to Filipino runners,” Runner’s World Publisher Christine Ong reveals. “With Runner’s World, such brands now have a regular avenue to communicate with their target audience.”

Still on its first outing as a stand-alone magazine, Runner’s World is already doubling its reach. Due to demands of dealers and distributors, Runner’s World hiked up its minimum circulation guarantee of 10,000 copies and printed 20,000 copies of its April-June issue, offering more value to its advertising partners.
