Summit Media proudly welcomed Esquire Philippines in its roster of titles with a grand launch held at the Rigodon Ballroom of The Peninsula Manila last October 5, 2011. Esteemed guests from the government, the business sector, showbiz and the arts graced the formal event.

The night opened with cocktails at the lobby of the Peninsula Manila, followed by welcoming remarks from Lance Gokongwei of JG Summit, Patrick Brennan of Hearst Publications, and Esquire editor-in-chief Erwin Romulo.

The team behind Esquire Philippines includes editors-at-large Sarge Lacuesta and Liz Uy, associate editor Luis Katigbak, managing editor Jerome Gomez, art directors Ces Olondriz and Jonathan Roxas, features editor Audrey Carpio, fashion director Raymond Gutierrez, style assistant Daniel Naval, and web editor Jonty Cruz. Romulo and his team led guests in toasting to the success of Esquire Philippines.

Hosted by Iza Calzado and Atty. Adel Tamano, the Esquire Philippines grand launch featured performances by Solenn Heussaff, Ogie Alcasid, and Ely Buendia with his band Pupil.

Esquire Philippines promises to be a men’s magazine that is intelligent, stylish, and compelling with a sense of wit. Romulo says, “The motto of Esquire is ‘Man At His Best.’ This magazine is dedicated to defining exactly what that means—in particular, to the Filipino Man.”

The grand launch of Esquire Philippines was co-presented by Mercedes-Benz, with special thanks to Chivas Regal and GH Mumm.
