Get on the road to being healthy this April as Men’s Health magazine gives you more than 168 quick health fixes that you can easily start doing today. Try these tips on for size:
Lose weight by avoiding the blob mentality. Men’s Health reports, “People consume 65 percent more calories when they eat with a person who opts for seconds.” Catch yourself when you reach for seconds along with your buddy, and opt for a cup of tea at the end of your meal instead.
Build more muscle by adding carbohydrates and fats to your protein diet. Since muscles are made of protein, people tend to consume even more protein in order to bulk up. However, Men’s Health cautions that this trains the body to burn protein for energy, as it says, “A body that’s relying on protein for energy is like a car that’s using pieces of its engine for fuel.” Give your body another energy source by adding carbohydrates and fats to your diet.
Eat some papaya. Men’s Health calls papaya a “nutritional masterpiece” as it is rich in vitamin C, folate, and potassium. It can aid in digestion since it is a good source of fiber, and can even help improve eyesight as it is loaded with vitamin A, vitamin E, and lycopene. Since it is available year-round, you can help yourself to a slice of papaya right now!
This month’s issue of Men’s Health also gives you new ways to get a buffer body and helps you fight fat and win with the Men’s Health Warrior Workout. Featuring Sam Milby on the cover, the April issue of Men’s Health is available in newsstands, bookstores, and supermarkets nationwide. For more of Men’s Health online, visit www.menshealth.com.ph.
