Women’s Health Philippines, the newest title from Summit Media, was recently launched in “Beauty and the Beach”, a two-day event that took place in Boracay last April 4 and 5.
Hosted by Jam 88.3 deejay Hilary Isaac, “Beauty and the Beach” offered classes to women of all ages. Throughout the two-day event, participants enjoyed Vinyasa yoga classes, a Bhangra Boogie dance workout, an intense Caribbean Hiphop dance class, and a basic class on Ultimate Frisbee. They also saw a different side of Boracay by going on an ATV adventure ride to Mt. Luho. Cocktails with media and advertisers at the Tides Sundeck capped off the event.
The classes were quickly filled up by early registrants, with hopeful women waiting in the wings to get a chance to participate in the Women’s Health classes. Women’s Health associate publisher Christine Ong shares, “We really wanted everyone to experience Women’s Health first-hand, so we found ways to accommodate people on the waiting list for all the classes.” Women’s Health editor-in-chief Lara Parpan adds, “This is the first time that Summit Media has launched an event outside of Manila, and this went beyond our expectations. The success of “Beauty and the Beach” proves that Filipinas are really looking for a different way, a fun way to get healthy and fit. Women’s Health will show them how to do it.”
The Women’s Health “Beauty and the Beach” event was sponsored by Havaianas, Orbit, Trust Family Program, Dove, Ponds, Rexona Skin Light, Sunsilk Summer Fresh, Vaseline, Creamsilk Summer Shine, Propel, adidas, and Sun Cellular.
Women’s Health brings their signature Bhangra Boogie and Caribbean Hiphop classes from the beach and to the metro by launching a series of Women’s Health gym tours. These classes will be offered in Gold’s Gym and Fitness First branches beginning this April. Get the chance to win FREE day passes to join these classes by purchasing your copy of the April issue of Women’s Health with KC Concepcion on the cover from selected National Bookstore branches.
The Philippine edition of Women’s Health is available in newsstands, bookstores, and supermarkets nationwide at P125 per copy.
