Summit Digital moves aggressively into the Internet
September 16, 2009

Summit Media has launched and relaunched many websites in the past few weeks under its digital division Summit Digital.
Under the women’s brands,
Cosmo.ph,
Yummy.ph, and
SmartParenting.com.ph were launched to target young women, foodies, and young mothers online. These websites are online editions of market-leading magazines.
Under the men’s brands,
FHM.com.ph,
Topgear.com.ph, and
Entrepreneur.com.ph were revamped. These are also online versions of FHM magazine, Top Gear magazine, and Entrepreneur magazines.
Techie.com.ph, a website targeted to gadget and technology lovers, was also launched as a web-only brand.
“While magazines are still very strong, there is a need to cater to the changing habits of our markets,” Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng, president of Summit Media says. “Filipinos, like their global counterparts, are moving into the web in a very strong way. With our combined websites alone, we reach close to 2 million unique users monthly and deliver over 50 million page views monthly.”
“While we continue to dominate in print,” she adds, “we will build online brands concentrated on verticals and niches, with our without a magazine counterpart. The important thing is to start thinking about the market and then building a product for them. It won’t matter what platform it is for as long as the content is strong and brand delivers markets to advertisers efficiently.”
