Who is the Candymag.com visitor?

Name: Nikki
Age: 13-16 years old
Year: High School

  • She likes: Music, TV shows about teen angst, cute guys, hanging out at the mall to window-shop or grab a mocha frappuccino, bargain finds, bonding with her girl friends, surfing the net on weekends and at night, chatting on YM
  • She dislikes: Anything baduy!, snooty girls who think they’re all that, trying-hard bands (and people), grown-ups prying into her life and her stuff, strict rules!
  • What she loves about herself: She cares about her friends and her family, she has big dreams for herself, and it’s easy to get along with her.
  • Her fave outfit: She loves her funky tops, denim skirt or cropped pants, and cute accessories
  • She can’t leave home without: Her cell phone, cologne, lip balm, powder, tissue, and her wallet.
  • She hates it when: Her parents misunderstand her and are so strict! Or when she and her friends fight because she feels like it’s the end of the world!
  • She loves it when: She has all her friends around her, when she gets good grades, and when the cute boy in class pays attention to her. Then she feels special!
  • She worries about: People not liking her, not being good enough, disappointing her parents and her friends—because then she disappoints herself. She wants to be confident and be her own person (She really admires girls who speak their mind and don’t care about what other people think) but at the same time, she can’t stop worrying about how others see her or think of her.
  • If a genie could grant her three wishes, they’d be: more money (so she can buy gifts for her family and friends, and shop for herself!), her crush to like her too, and to be popular and be accepted and loved by all her friends and classmates.
  • Aside from Candymag.com, she loves surfing these websites: Friendster, Multiply, Facebook, MySpace, and Total Girl’s message board.
  • She accesses the website: On weekdays after school around 6 to 8pm and on weekends when she’s not going out. She usually goes online at home or in school, or sometimes in net cafes, too.

Features

The following sections are open for sponsorship.

  • Candy Faces: This is the first social networking site in the Philippines for teen girls aged 13-21 years old. They are not only able to make friends with other Candy Faces users, they are also encouraged to develop their talents in writing and photography. Every week, there is a chosen Face of the Week.
  • TeenTalk: The liveliest and most buzzing teen message board online! This is where teens discuss their problems about school, dilemmas about boys, and basically anything under the sun. It is moderated also by teens, which makes the environment in TeenTalk hip and fun.
  • Cutiepedia: This is a virtual database of Candy Cuties from past `til present. The girls can view their pictures, trivia about them, and can even add their own to the database. It’s Candymag.com’s version of the cutest encyclopedia.
  • Blogs: The site is home to the Candy editors’ official blog. This is where the visitors find out what a day in the life of an editor is. They get exclusive information about the magazine straight from the editors themselves! Candy’s Council of Cool also has a blog of their own. Eight extraordinary teens write about their lives and other teens are shown what it’s like to be a CoC member. Candymag.com also has its very own network of teen blogs. Every year, there is the Candy Teen Blog Awards, a search for the best teen blogs that are part of the Candymag.com network.
  • Downloads: Candy Girls can sweeten their desktops by downloading wallpaper from Candymag.com. Mobile products such as Candy Covers, Candy Avatars, and Candy Games are also available for download.

  • Magazine: Everything Candy magazine-related can be found in this section. There’s an electronic magazine that serves as a preview of the current issue. Articles from past issues, hot topics on TeenTalk, and editors’ favorites are also featured here.
  • Candy TV: It is the backstage pass of Candy Girls to all the shoots and events of the Candy team. A new video is uploaded weekly and visitors can rate and comment on their favorite videos. Behind-the-scenes footage from Candy shoots are uploaded here. How-tos for beauty and fashion are also uploaded monthly.
  • Candy Girl Vlog: Every week, a video made and produced by a 16-year-old high schooler, The Candy Girl Vlogger, is uploaded on the site. She talks about her interests, her problems, and her passions.
  • Candy Avatars: Candy Girls (and boys) can now get to put a face behind their profiles! With Candy Avatars, not only can Candy Girls mix-and-match facial features, but they can jazz up their avatars with clothing, accessories, and even different backgrounds! These Avatars can be seen on their profiles, saved and shared with friends, and even downloaded to their mobile phones! Advertisers can sponsor limited edition clothing, accessories, and backgrounds to the Candy Girls. Soon, there will also be animated avatars.

  • Candy Closet: Candy Girls can see items featured in the magazine on a virtual mannequin on Candymag.com. They can mix-and-match the items and find out where these items can be purchased. They can save and print out their chosen outfit with store details and prices.
  • Candy ChitChat: Candy The sweetest chatroom in the WWW, where Candy Girls and boys can get to know each other better, interact in real time, and meet new friends.
  • Candy Games: Candy Girls have access to fun games on Candymag.com. Candy Pairs is a matching type game where you flip cards to reveal identical ones until every card is turned over. Cutie Catcher is a fun game that involves a bag and a ton of Cutie Coins.
