WHAT IS PLAYHOUSE DISNEY?

Aimed at pre-school kids aged two to six years old, Playhouse Disney is an educational playground where young readers can learn and have fun at the same time. This “edutainment” magazine has bright and colorful pages filled with stories, games, and activities. From coloring activities and simple puzzles to basic arithmetic, Playhouse Disney magazine will support every child’s cognitive growth, including:

  • social and emotional development
  • psychomotor skills

The magazine will draw its content from the Playhouse Disney cable TV channel’s reputable shows, such as, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, My Friends Tigger and Pooh, Little Einsteins, Handy Manny and his Tools, Jojo’s Circus, and Higglytown Heroes. The different characters from these shows will tackle various areas of early learning and child development. Through creative storytelling, children’s imagination and creativity will be stimulated as they discover and explore the world.

Playhouse Disney magazine also fosters parent-child bonding through activities that mom and dad can do with their kids and stories they can read to their child before bedtime.

Playhouse Disney magazine has sold 4.2 million copies in 25 countries, with global retail sales of over $14 million to date. It is now well positioned in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, quickly reaching the #2 position in these markets after Disney’s Princess magazine in copy sales.

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research’s survey from November 2008 to January 2009 in Mega Manila, Playhouse Disney Channel is the most watched cable TV channel and kids’ channel among two to six year olds. According to Disney TV estimates, Playhouse Disney Channel reaches 200,000 households in the Philippines.
