Martha Stewart Weddings Philippines to launch in September 2008
The premiere name in wedding magazines is now in the Philippines: Martha Stewart Weddings. Summit Media has scored another coup by being the first publisher to launch Martha Stewart Weddings outside the United States.
Martha Stewart Weddings sets the standard for the bride and groom. The magazine takes the couple from the engagement to the honeymoon, inspiring them to imagine their ideal celebration, then giving them the information and advice they need to bring their vision to life. The magazine will provide the bride and groom all the details they can use to make their wedding day truly their own—from cakes and correspondence to flowers and favors and all the elements in between.
Edited by Tata Mapa and led by Associate Publisher, Tara Santos, the magazine will take the best of the American edition while making it relevant for every Filipino bride. The local edition of Martha Stewart Weddings will include ideas and inspiration that work in the Philippine context.
Martha Stewart Weddings Philippines will be released in September 2008 with a cover price of P295 and will be distributed in bookstores, newsstands and wherever Summit magazines are found nationwide.
Summit Media tops nationwide TNS-Trends Newsstand Survey
For the second year in a row, Summit Media proves that it is the country’s top magazine publisher, as it tops the second nationwide TNS-Trends Newsstand Survey. The largest survey conducted which started in Metro Manila in 1999, the TNS-Trends Newsstand Survey covers has expanded to also include key cities all over the Philippines.
A total of 350 newsstands were surveyed, with 170 in Metro Manila, 50 in the rest of Luzon, 80 in Visayas, and 50 in Mindanao. Summit Media’s titles topped all categories—including Fashion, Men’s Lifestyle, Showbiz, Homemaker, Parenting, and Kids’, to name a few. The TNS-Trends Newsstand Survey covers actual sales of magazines. It answers the question: “How many magazines were you able to sell during the last 30 days?”
Here are the results:

TNS-TRENDS is a leading customised marketing research group in the Philippines and is part of TNS Global, one of the most recognized market research groups worldwide.
Yummy in the blogosphere
Almost doubling its print quantity in just four months (audited by KPMG Manabat Sanagustin & Co.*) and garnering market leadership in merely seven months (conducted by TNS-Trends**), YUMMY is one of Summit Media’s fastest growing magazines.
Aside from the excellent content, food styling and layout that made the magazine an instant hit, YUMMY’s success can also be attributed to all the buzz and support it generated in the blogosphere. Yummy has received exposure from popular blogs like Market Man’s Market Manila (www.marketmanila.com), Anton’s Our Awesome Planet (anton.blogs.com), ChichaJo’s 80 Breakfasts (80breakfasts.blogspot.com), Wysgal’s Rants and Raves (wysgal.blogspot.com) and Toni’s Wifely Steps (toni.marikit.net), which helped create and sustain the buzz on the magazine.
To show its appreciation and admiration for the bloggers, YUMMY collaborated with several of them for interesting articles in the magazine, such as Market Man’s feature last April (www.marketmanila.com/archives/yummy-marketman) and ChichaJo’s June feature (80breakfasts.blogspot.com/2007/06/my-yummy- pantry-essentials.html). This November, YUMMY worked with as many as seven bloggers for an interesting piece: “Manila’s Food Bloggers: Their Recommendations and Thoughts on All Things Food”. Aside from editorial tie-ups, YUMMY also invited 2 food bloggers (artist-chef.blogspot.com and dalanghita.com) to be major participants in its first event last September 30 (The YUMMY Cook-off).
These collaborations reflect the huge influence the blogosphere has “on all things food” and YUMMY’s continuous and creative efforts to support and reach different kinds of food lovers!

Summit Media launches Philippine edition of Town & Country
For the past 160 years, a magazine has been promoting all the things that last: good manners, good sense, and good fun. As the oldest continuously published lifestyle magazine in America, Town & Country is the only title that has taken a holistic approach to luxury, giving its readers the highest level of quality, style, experience and integrity.
This September, Summit Media is proud to bring this holistic approach to luxury to Philippine shores with Town & Country Philippines, the first foreign edition of Town & Country. “The Philippines has enough of an affluent population to make the magazine a success,” says Thomas Wolf, senior vice president for Hearst Magazines International. “Hearst also has a great partner in Summit Media, and we trust them to put out a magazine that would represent the Town & Country brand the right way.”
Summit Media is responsible for bringing in the local editions of Hearst Publications’ Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, and Good Housekeeping. It has also brought a local flavor to international titles FHM, Top Gear, Marie Claire, and Men’s Health.
Town & Country Philippines promises to be a magazine dedicated to featuring not only the best that money can buy, but more importantly, the best that human beings can achieve. The Philippine edition of Town & Country is spearheaded by Monique Villonco as editor and Mia Borromeo as editor-at-large.
Town & Country Philippines is now available in newsstands at P150 per copy.
