History

With three editorial staff, one part-time circulation manager, and one part time publisher, we launched Preview, our first magazine, in June 1995. Our first office was a vacant room in a newspaper office then where the staff shared one Mac computer and an electric fan.

We only wanted to produce good magazines and did not care about our work environs and limited resources.

In May 1997, Hearst Magazines International chose us to be its local licensee to publish Cosmopolitan magazine. The efforts of the past started to pay off and Cosmopolitan paved the way for a rebirth of the Philippines’ moribund magazine industry.

Thus followed many more magazine launches with other foreign partners like Emap (now Bauer), Disney, Rodale, Entrepreneur Media, Pacific Publications, BBC, and the Lagardere Group. Of course, we also launched our own locally conceived titles and these were successes as well.

Today, we are the leading magazine publisher in the Philippines with over 20 titles in our portfolio. We have also gone on to conquer the digital realm, building two of the country's top 100 websites, PEP.ph and FHM.com.ph, as well as the local edition of leading recruitment site Jobstreet.com and several other online verticals like TravelBook.ph, BridalBook.ph, MyProperty.ph, and MyCars.ph. In 2013, we launched a partnership with App Addictive New York to provide social media solutions to advertisers.

We are also among the leading players in out-of-home media with billboards, LEDs, an office-based digital ad network, and transportation advertising.

Summit Media continues to be the a dynamic player in the media industry. While we are no longer just in the magazine business, we continue to deliver great products to our audiences and our advertisers, whether in print, digitally, or out-of-home.
